Founded by Debi Gaudet, at Matte Black JPDesign we pride ourselves in paying close attention to design details and putting the best quality finishes in all of our homes.

MBJPDesign is a full service renovation & design company. Our process starts with finding the right home. Once purchased, we research the homes history in order to ensure we are respecting the integrity of the home by restoring what we can or purchasing replicas for authenticity. Throughout the renovation process we are able to easily pivot and make adjustments when issues arise.

With over 20 years of design experience, we are able to offer our clients a fresh and unique design perspective while staying true to their personalities. We are humbled and blessed to have the opportunity to change peoples lives through design.

Debi Gaudet

Creative Director

Long before Debi began her professional creative career as a graphic designer for Bentley College, she knew she was destined to be in a creative field. Nearly 15 years after the start of her then career, Debi stumbled on to a new path by complete accident. While working out at a local gym Debi mentioned to the owner that his space needed a facelift. The owner told Debi that he couldn’t afford to redo the gym. Debi then volunteered to not only design the space but also complete the work herself on nights and weekends. It was there that Debi taught herself to paint and faux finish. Gym members began to ask Debi to redesign their homes. Though she was hesitant, Debi agreed and before she knew it, her first interior design business was born. For 16 years Debi worked throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island changing peoples lives through her passion for design and helping others. Through word of mouth and impeccable work, Debi grew and maintained a successful design, painting and faux finishing business. Since retiring her company, Anyhue Interior Facelifts in 2015, Debi has worked for both a large retailer and small RI based company honing her skills as a technical kitchen and bath designer. It wasn’t long before Debi realized she wanted to work for herself again, just in a different capacity. Debi soon began restoring, renovating and selling homes in MA. She finds so much joy in bringing something old back to life as well as making homes more functional and appealing. When Debi isn’t in full renovation mode, you can usually find her cooking for family, hanging with her favorite four legged friend or traveling with her wife.
